The Schneider LC1G3304BEEA is a TeSys Giga 4-pole contactor for AC-3 motor switching with a 24...48 V AC/DC coil and built-in bidirectional peak limiting. It carries UL, IEC, and CSA approvals per EN/IEC 60947-4-1.
AC-3 Duty and Thermal Management
The AC-3 rating of 330 A is the motor-switching current; the contactor also handles 440 A in AC-1 resistive duty. Power dissipation runs 16 W per pole under AC-3 and 30 W per pole under AC-1 at full thermal current, so panel ventilation and busbar sizing need to account for that heat. The coil technology uses built-in bidirectional peak limiting, meaning no external snubber is needed for standard transient suppression; the coil holds in at 0.8 Uc and drops out between 0.1 and 0.45 Uc depending on temperature.
The contactor mounts on a plate, not DIN rail. Power terminals accept bar or ring lugs up to 185 mm²; busbar cross-section up to 32 x 10 mm. Tightening torque is 35 N.m on the power connections. Control circuit uses push-in terminals for 0.2 to 2.5 mm² stranded or solid wire. Overall dimensions: 290 mm high, 185 mm wide, 226 mm deep. Mechanical durability is 8 million cycles; maximum operating rate for AC-3 is 600 cycles per hour. The contactor meets vibration and shock levels typical for industrial enclosures: 2 gn open, 4 gn closed (vibration), 10 gn open, 15 gn closed (shock). For functional safety applications, B10d values are 400,000 cycles under nominal load and 3,000,000 cycles with mechanical load per EN/ISO 13849-1.
