Part identity and ratings
The Schneider Electric TeSys K LC1K0601K7 is a 3-pole contactor rated for motor control duty in AC-3 and AC-3e utilization categories, switching 6 A at 440 V. The 100 V AC coil draws 30 VA inrush and 4.5 VA hold-in power at 20 °C. A single normally-closed (1 NC) instantaneous auxiliary contact is integrated on the front.
The AC-3 rating at 6 A covers starting and running of standard squirrel-cage motors up to roughly 2.2 kW at 400 V three-phase. The AC-3e rating extends the same duty to energy-efficient IE3/IE4 motors with slightly higher inrush. AC-4 at 36 A is for inching or plugging duty, but electrical durability drops to 0.05 Mcycles at that level — expect to replace the contactor more frequently under reversing or jogging cycles. The 1.3 Mcycles electrical durability at 6 A AC-3 gives a solid baseline for continuous conveyor or pump cycling. The 10 Mcycles mechanical durability means the coil and armature outlast the contacts under light switching — the contactor is not the wear item in a low-duty application. Minimum switching capability is 5 mA at 17 V for signalling circuits, so the auxiliary contact can reliably switch PLC-level dry contacts without gold-plating concerns.
Screw clamp terminals accept 0.34 to 4 mm² solid or stranded wire, with a tightening torque range of 0.8 to 1.3 N·m. The coil has no built-in suppressor module. For DC-switching inductive loads or PLC-driven coils, add a free-wheeling diode or varistor externally to avoid voltage spikes on the control circuit. The IP2X finger protection meets VDE 0106 for panel-mount safety.
