The Schneider Electric LC1K12016BLS207 is a TeSys K contactor — a 3-pole, 24 V DC coil device rated for 12 A in AC-3 duty at ≤ 440 V, with one normally closed auxiliary contact built in. The "low consumption" coil draws 1.8 W holding power and includes integral suppression, so no external flyback diode or RC snubber is needed on the control side. That simplifies panel wiring and cuts a BOM line.
The AC-3 rating (12 A at ≤ 440 V) is the motor-switching duty — it handles starting inrush and breaking locked-rotor current for small motors up to roughly 5.5 kW at 400 V. The AC-1 rating (20 A) covers resistive loads like heaters. The 24 V DC coil holds in from 0.7 to 1.3 times nominal (about 16.8 to 31.2 V) and drops out at 0.1 times nominal or less below 50 °C. That wide dropout margin means it releases reliably even with a sagging control supply — useful on a line with long DC runs or shared power supplies. Minimum switching capability is 5 mA at 17 V for the signalling circuit, so it can switch PLC-level dry contacts without needing a separate interface relay.
Power connections are lugs-ring terminals accepting up to 7 mm ring diameter, torqued to 0.8–1.3 N·m with a 3.2 mm flat or Philips screwdriver. IP20 finger-safe terminals are standard for enclosed panels.
Environmental limits
Altitude derating starts above 2000 m. The contactor withstands 10–15 Gn shock (closed) and 4 Gn vibration at 5–300 Hz, so it holds in on a vibrating conveyor or pump skid.
