The same contactor also carries AC-1 (resistive) and AC-4 (plugging/reversing) utilisation categories, so it handles resistive heater loads and high-stress reversing duty within its current limits.
Motor power across common line voltages
This contactor supports motor loads at several standard supply voltages: 3 kW at 220–230 V AC, 5.5 kW at 380–415 V AC, 5.5 kW at 440 V AC, 4 kW at 480 V AC, 4 kW at 500–600 V AC, and 4 kW at 660–690 V AC, all at 50/60 Hz. The 5.5 kW rating at 400 V class is the most common selection point for European and IEC panels.
Its heat dissipation is 1.3 W, which is low enough that you can pack several units side-by-side without forced cooling in a typical control panel. The flame-retardant housing meets V1 per UL 94 and also passes NF F 16-101 and NF F 16-102 requirements, so it is suitable for rail and transit applications where fire-smoke-toxicity standards apply.
Withstand and coordination
For selective coordination with upstream breakers or fuses, the contactor's short-time withstand current (Icw) is rated at 115 A for 1 second on the power circuit, tapering to 55 A for 1 minute. The signalling circuit (auxiliary contact) can handle 110 A for 100 ms. These values let you size the protection device without oversizing the contactor for fault clearing.
