The contactor also carries AC-1 (resistive) and AC-4 (plugging/reversing) ratings, so it's not limited to motor loads, but the 12 A AC-3 figure is the spec that decides fit for a typical pump, fan, or conveyor motor circuit.
The power pole is 3 NO — three normally-open main contacts, which is the standard for a three-phase contactor. The auxiliary contact block is built in: 1 NO instantaneous, so you get one mirror contact for status feedback or interlocking without adding a side-mount block. Electrical durability is 1.3 million cycles at 12 A AC-3, and mechanical durability is 10 million cycles — that's the life the mechanism is designed for before wear-out. The contactor dissipates 1.3 W holding in, with an inrush of 30 VA at 20 °C, so the control transformer needs to handle that pull-in surge. Minimum switching is 5 mA at 17 V for the signalling circuit, which means it can reliably switch low-level PLC-level signals on the aux contact.
The footprint is compact: 1.8 in (45 mm) wide, 2.3 in (58 mm) high, 2.2 in (57 mm) deep. That width is a single 45 mm module, so it fits standard DIN-rail enclosures without crowding. Screw clamp terminals accept solid wire up to 4 mm² or flexible with ferrule up to 2.5 mm², with a tightening torque range of 0.8 to 1.3 N·m. The IP2X finger protection (per VDE 0106) means the terminals are touch-safe once installed in an enclosure.
