Part identity and motor-duty rating
The LC1K16107C7 is a TeSys K contactor from Schneider Electric, a 3-pole device rated 16 A in AC-3 utilisation category at ≤440 V, with a 36 V AC coil and one normally open auxiliary contact. AC-3 is the standard category for squirrel-cage motor switching — starting, stopping, and inching under load — so the 16 A figure governs the motor current it can handle across a duty cycle, not just resistive make/break.
Motor power coverage by voltage
Motor power capability varies with line voltage: 7.5 kW at 380–415 V AC, 5.5 kW at 440 V, 4 kW at 480 V and at 500–600 V and at 660–690 V, and 4 kW at 220–230 V. This spread covers the common three-phase industrial voltages across 50/60 Hz networks, so the same contactor can be specified for a 400 V class motor in Europe or a 480 V motor in North America without changing the part number.

Rated short-time withstand current (Icw) for the power circuit is 115 A for 1 second, 105 A for 5 seconds, 100 A for 10 seconds, tapering to 25 A for 15 minutes or longer. These values let the contactor ride through downstream faults until an upstream protective device clears — useful when coordinating with a motor circuit protector or fuse. The signalling circuit (auxiliary contact) can handle 110 A for 100 ms, 90 A for 500 ms, and 80 A for 1 second, which covers the inrush from a PLC output or relay driving the coil.
