What it is and what it does
The Schneider Electric LC3D150Q7A64 is a TeSys Deca star-delta starter built for motor control in the TeSys D range. It carries three power poles, each 3 NO, rated at 150 A in AC-3 utilisation category — the duty class for squirrel-cage motor starting and switching under load. The 380 V AC coil pulls in the contactor set; the pre-wired assembly reduces panel wiring time for the delta-closing contactor pair.
Where it fits in the panel
This is a star-delta starter, not a standalone contactor — it integrates the main line contactor, star contactor, and delta contactor in one pre-wired package. The IP20 front face keeps fingers out of live terminals inside the enclosure. Pollution degree 3 rating means it tolerates conductive dust and humidity typical of industrial control panels without tracking. The operating altitude of 3000 m without derating covers most mill and plant elevations without recalculating the thermal load.
Mechanical ruggedness
The contactor set handles vibration: 2 Gn (5–300 Hz) when open, 4 Gn when closed. Shock withstand is 10 Gn for 11 ms open, 15 Gn for 11 ms closed. That's enough to survive fork-truck drops during installation and the low-frequency rumble of a motor-driven conveyor line without the contacts bouncing.
