The LC3D80B7A64 is a TeSys Deca pre-wired star-delta starter rated for 80 A in AC-3 duty, intended for motor control applications. It carries 3 x 3P (3NO) power poles and is controlled by a 24 V AC coil, terminated with screw-clamp terminals.
The AC-3 category covers starting and plugging, so the contactor sees high inrush but breaks the motor at full speed. The 24 V AC coil is standard for control transformers in industrial panels; it keeps the control circuit at a safe low voltage. The IP20 front-face protection means it's finger-safe from the front but needs enclosure for washdown or dust. Fire resistance rated to 1562 °F (850 °C) per IEC 60695-2-1, and the housing is V1 conforming to UL 94. Operating temperature spans -40 to 140 °F (-40 to 60 °C) with derating above 140 °F up to 158 °F (70 °C), so it lives in unconditioned enclosures near furnaces or in outdoor cabinets.
This is a star-delta starter — it reduces inrush current during motor startup by connecting the windings in star, then switching to delta for run. Common on conveyors, pumps, compressors, and fans where the supply can't handle a direct-on-line start. The pre-wired assembly saves panel wiring time compared to building the star-delta circuit from individual contactors and a timer.
