The Schneider Electric TeSys Ultra LUCB05B is an advanced control unit for protecting and controlling 3-phase self-cooled motors, rated for utilization categories AC-41, AC-43, and AC-44. It integrates overload, short-circuit, earth fault, and phase failure protection in a single plug-in package with manual reset.
Motor power: 1.5 kW at 400 V, 2.2 kW at 500 V, 3 kW at 690 V AC; utilisation categories AC-43, AC-44, AC-41; thermal overload Class 10; heat dissipation 2–3 W. Control circuit voltage is fixed at 24 V AC; inrush current peaks at 220 mA when closing, dropping to 90 mA sealed. The control circuit is safely isolated from the main circuit at 400 V SELV. Minimum operating time is 35 ms opening, 70 ms closing — fast enough to protect motors under short-circuit conditions when paired with a TeSys Ultra circuit breaker or contactor.
The unit plugs into the TeSys Ultra base; front-face access means no rear wiring. Dimensions: 2.4 in (60 mm) deep, 1.8 in (45 mm) wide, 2.6 in (66 mm) high — occupies roughly a single contactor footprint. Rated IP20 on the front panel and wired terminals, IP40 front panel outside connection zone. Vibration resistance is 2 gn open poles, 4 gn closed; shock 10 gn open, 15 gn closed — suitable for machinery with moderate vibration. Compliance covers IEC 60947-6-2 and UL 60947-4-1 with phase barrier.
