Speed-torque envelope across supply voltages
The SH31001P0BA3100: This SH3 frame servo motor delivers a nominal speed of 2500 rpm on 230 V single-phase supply, 5000 rpm on 400 V three-phase, and 6000 rpm on 480 V three-phase — the top end of the speed range is supply-voltage limited, not motor-limited. Nominal torque holds at 2.64 N.m on 230 V single-phase, dropping to 2.27 N.m on both 400 V and 480 V three-phase supplies. The continuous stall torque is 2.94 N.m across the 115-480 V three-phase range, giving a 23 % torque margin above the nominal rating for sustained low-speed positioning. Peak stall torque reaches 9.6 N.m on three-phase supplies — roughly 3.3× the continuous stall torque — providing the acceleration headroom for rapid indexing moves without oversizing the frame.
Encoder feedback and mechanical interface
The absolute multiturn Hiperface DSL encoder eliminates the need for a home-reference cycle on power-up — the drive reads the absolute position directly over the DSL link, which reduces commissioning time on multi-axis lines where homing sequences would otherwise stall startup. Smooth shaft end (19 mm diameter, 40 mm shaft length) means the coupling or pulley must be secured with a keyless locking mechanism or set-screw hub — no keyway exists to transmit torque, so the clamping force of the shaft-collar interface carries the full peak torque of 9.6 N.m. IP65 rating per IEC 60034-5 on both the motor body and shaft bushing — the seal at the shaft exit is rated for washdown exposure, making this motor suitable for food-and-beverage or wet-process zone installations where coolant mist or hose-down cleaning is routine.
Thermal and electrical parameters
Natural convection cooling (no external fan) — the 1190 W continuous output power is dissipated through the flange and frame surface. Panel builders must ensure unobstructed airflow around the 100 mm flange and 168.5 mm body length, especially when multiple motors are ganged in a confined enclosure. Stator resistance is 3.8 Ohm with 19 mH inductance — these values set the electrical time constant at 5 ms, which the drive's current loop must accommodate. The torque constant of 0.84 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature defines the current-to-torque gain used in the drive's tuning parameters. Maximum current Irms is 12 A; continuous stall current is 3.5 A — the drive's continuous rating should be sized for the 3.5 A RMS plus the peak current demand during acceleration profiles, not the 12 A peak ceiling.
