Speed and torque across supply voltages
The SH31401P01A1100: This SH3 series motor delivers 2900 W continuous power, but the nominal speed and torque depend on the supply voltage. At 400 V three-phase, nominal speed is 3000 rpm with 9.2 Nm torque; at 480 V three-phase, it reaches 3600 rpm with 8.4 Nm. On single-phase 230 V, speed drops to 1500 rpm with 10.6 Nm, and on 115 V single-phase, 750 rpm with 10.95 Nm. The continuous stall torque is 11.1 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range, with a peak stall torque of 27 Nm — the motor can deliver nearly 2.5× rated torque momentarily for acceleration or overcoming friction.
Encoder, shaft, and cooling — what ships in the carton
The motor carries an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder — no homing sequence needed on power-up, the position is known immediately. The shaft is smooth (no keyway), 24 mm diameter, 50 mm length, with a 140 mm international standard flange and 130 mm centring collar. Cooling is by natural convection — no fan, no external blower required. The IP65 rating covers both the motor body and the shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5, so it handles washdown environments without additional shrouding. No holding brake is fitted on this variant — the motor coasts to stop when power is removed. If the application needs a holding brake for vertical loads or safety, this specific order code is not the one.
Electrical parameters and thermal limits
Stator resistance is 1.41 Ω, inductance 23.72 mH, and the torque constant is 1.43 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature. The back EMF constant is 100 V/krpm at 20 °C — useful for sizing the drive's voltage margin at high speed. The motor is rated for a hot-spot copper temperature of 130 °C. Maximum axial force on the shaft is 300 N; radial force limits are speed-dependent: 1930 N at 1000 rpm, 1530 N at 2000 rpm, 1340 N at 3000 rpm.
