Torque and speed — matching the load profile
The SH31401P02F1000: Rated for three-phase supply, the motor delivers 3000 rpm nominal at 400 V three phase and 3600 rpm at 480 V three phase. Continuous stall torque is 11.1 N.m across the 115...480 V three-phase range, with a peak stall torque of 27 N.m for acceleration and overload transients. The holding brake provides 23 N.m holding torque — sufficient to hold the load stationary when power is removed, eliminating the need for an external brake resistor in vertical-axis applications. Continuous power is rated at 2900 W, defining the thermal limit under natural convection cooling. The motor has no external fan; heat dissipation depends on the mounting flange and ambient airflow.
Encoder and feedback — absolute position without homing
Fitted with an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder, this motor reports absolute position over multiple shaft revolutions. No homing cycle is needed after power-up — the drive reads the current position directly from the encoder, reducing commissioning time on multi-axis machines.
Environmental protection and mounting
The motor achieves IP65 protection when the shaft bushing includes the seal ring, per IEC 60034-5. This suits washdown environments in food processing, packaging, and material handling. Without the seal ring, the rating drops to IP54. Mounting is via an international standard flange with a 140 mm flange size and a 130 mm centring collar. The smooth shaft (24 mm diameter, 50 mm shaft length) accepts a keyless coupling or a clamping hub.
Electrical parameters for drive tuning
Stator resistance is 1.41 Ohm and stator inductance is 23.72 mH — these values are needed for the drive's auto-tuning routine to set current loops and velocity gains correctly. The torque constant is 1.43 N.m/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the back EMF constant is 100 V/krpm at 20 °C.
