The SH31401P02F1200: This SH3 servo motor delivers 2.9 kW continuous power at 400 V three-phase, with a nominal torque of 9.2 N.m at that voltage. On 480 V three-phase it reaches 3.17 kW and 8.4 N.m, while single-phase 230 V yields 1.67 kW at 10.6 N.m. The nominal speed shifts with supply: 750 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 1500 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three-phase. The wide speed-torque envelope means this motor can be wired into different line voltages without a transformer swap — useful for a machine that ships globally or gets re-powered at a new site. Peak stall torque hits 27 N.m across the 115...480 V three-phase range, so acceleration and deceleration are consistent regardless of the supply variant.
Holding brake and encoder — safety and position retention
The integrated holding brake delivers 23 N.m holding torque — enough to hold a vertical-axis load in place when the drive is off. This is a spring-applied, power-released brake; it engages when power is removed, so a power loss doesn't drop the load. The absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder keeps position data even after a power cycle, eliminating the need for a home-find routine on restart. That saves cycle time on machines that power down between shifts or after a fault.
Sealing and mounting for washdown environments
IP65 on the motor and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing per IEC 60034-5 — this motor handles hose-down cleaning in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical lines. The smooth shaft (no keyway) avoids debris traps and simplifies seal integration. Mounting uses an international standard flange, 140 mm (5.5 in) flange size, with a centring collar diameter of 130 mm and 11 mm mounting holes. The natural convection cooling means no fan or compressed air is needed — just free air around the housing.
