Speed and torque across supply voltages
The SH31401P11A2200 delivers different nominal speeds depending on the supply: 750 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 1500 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three-phase. The torque also shifts with voltage — 10.95 Nm at 115 V single-phase drops to 8.4 Nm at 480 V three-phase. Match the drive voltage column to your application's speed-torque demand; the motor will not deliver 3000 rpm at full torque on a 230 V single-phase drive. Continuous power is 2900 W, and the motor relies on natural convection cooling — no fan. In a closed cabinet or continuous-duty cycle, ensure free airflow around the finned housing or the thermal limit will be reached before the electrical rating.
Encoder, brake, and mechanical interface
The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback within one revolution. For multi-turn applications (e.g., ball-screw axes with travel longer than one motor rev), this encoder alone won't track absolute position across power cycles — you'd need a multi-turn encoder variant or a separate homing routine on startup. This variant ships without a holding brake. Vertical-axis loads, Z-axis stages, or any application requiring power-off position holding will need an external brake or a different SH3 variant with the brake option. The shaft is 24 mm diameter with a parallel key, and the flange is 140 mm IEC standard — mates with common gearbox input flanges without adapters. The electrical connection uses a rotatable right-angled connector — the cable exit can be oriented in 90° increments after the motor is mounted, which helps in tight cable-tray routing or when the motor sits close to a cabinet wall.
Environmental sealing and mechanical loading
IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing — the shaft bushing seal is the wet-end barrier; it withstands washdown spray but not immersion. The IP67 housing rating holds only when the connector is fully mated and the sealing washer is seated. For food-grade or high-pressure washdown (IP69K), this motor is not rated. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 1930 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1340 N at 3000 rpm. Maximum axial force is 300 N. Belt-drive or overhung-load applications must stay within these limits — exceeding them shortens bearing life or causes shaft deflection that damages the encoder.
Electrical parameters for drive sizing
Stator resistance is 1.41 Ohm and inductance is 23.72 mH. Maximum current Irms is 20.8 A — the drive must supply this peak current for acceleration and peak torque events. The torque constant is 1.43 Nm/A at 120 °C copper temperature, and the back-EMF constant is 100 V/krpm at 20 °C. These values let you calculate the drive voltage and current headroom needed for the target speed-torque operating point. Peak stall torque is 27 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range, and continuous stall torque is 11.1 Nm. The 3-second peak current rating matches the 20.8 A maximum — the drive's overload capability must support this for acceleration without tripping.
