Motor ratings and supply voltage dependency
The SH31401P11F1000: This SH3 series servo motor is wound for three-phase operation, but its nominal speed and torque vary significantly with the supply voltage applied. At 400 V three-phase, the motor delivers 3000 rpm nominal speed and 9.2 Nm nominal torque; at 480 V three-phase, speed rises to 3600 rpm with nominal torque dropping to 8.4 Nm. Single-phase 115 V and 230 V supplies produce lower speeds (750 rpm and 1500 rpm respectively) with higher nominal torque values — 10.95 Nm and 10.6 Nm. Continuous power output is 2900 W, with peak stall torque reaching 27 Nm across the 115–480 V three-phase range. The continuous stall torque is 11.1 Nm, and the continuous stall current is 7.8 A. Maximum RMS current is 20.8 A, which sets the drive sizing requirement.
Integrated holding brake and encoder feedback
The holding brake delivers 23 Nm holding torque — sufficient for vertical-axis loads where the motor must hold position when power is removed. The brake is factory-integrated, so no external brake resistor or mechanical retrofit is needed. Feedback comes from an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder. This provides position data at power-up without a homing cycle, which simplifies commissioning on multi-axis machines where absolute position reference is required after a power cycle.
Mechanical interface and environmental sealing
The motor mounts on an international standard flange with a 140 mm flange size and 130 mm centring collar diameter. The shaft is 24 mm diameter with a parallel key, 50 mm shaft length, and 8 mm key width. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 1930 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1340 N at 3000 rpm; maximum axial force is 300 N. IP protection depends on the shaft seal configuration: IP54 without a shaft seal ring, or IP65 with the shaft seal ring fitted. The motor body itself is rated IP65 when the seal is in place, making it suitable for washdown environments in food-and-beverage or machining lines where coolant spray is present.
