Flange size, shaft, and mechanical interface
The SH31401P11F2100 carries a 140 mm (5.5 in) international standard flange — the same bolt pattern as the SH3 frame family, so it drops into existing SH3 motor mounts without reworking the adapter plate. The shaft is 24 mm diameter with a parallel key (key width 8 mm), 50 mm shaft length. The centring collar depth is 3.5 mm. These dimensions define the coupling bore and the pilot fit into the load side. Overall length is 255.5 mm (10.06 in) — measure the available envelope in the axis before committing the BOM; the rotatable right-angled connector adds radial clearance on one side.
Speed and torque across supply voltages
This is a three-phase servo motor, but its speed and torque depend on the supply you feed it. On 400 V three-phase it delivers 3000 rpm nominal; on 480 V three-phase it reaches 3600 rpm. On single-phase 115 V it runs at 750 rpm; on 230 V single-phase at 1500 rpm. Nominal torque is 9.2 N·m at 400 V three-phase, 8.4 N·m at 480 V three-phase. If you're running on single-phase 115 V, expect 10.95 N·m — but at only 860 W output power. The 2.9 kW continuous power rating is achieved at 400 V three-phase. Peak stall torque is 27 N·m across the 115–480 V three-phase range — this is the short-term acceleration ceiling. Continuous stall torque is 11.1 N·m, which sets the thermal limit for holding position under load without the brake engaged.
Holding brake and encoder feedback
Encoder feedback is absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface — no homing sequence needed on power-up for single-turn applications. The drive receives absolute position within one revolution; for multi-turn applications you'd need a different encoder variant.
Electrical parameters for drive matching
Stator resistance is 1.41 Ω, stator inductance 23.72 mH — these set the electrical time constant and the current-loop bandwidth the drive must support. The torque constant is 1.43 N·m/A at 120 °C copper temperature; at room temperature it will be slightly higher. Back EMF constant is 100 V/krpm at 20 °C — this determines the bus voltage needed to reach rated speed. At 3000 rpm the back EMF is 300 V, leaving headroom on a 400 V DC bus for current regulation. Maximum current (Irms) is 20.8 A, and the 3-second peak current is also 20.8 A — the drive's continuous and peak current ratings must both meet or exceed this figure. The motor is naturally convection cooled, so no external fan or forced air is required, but mounting must allow free airflow around the frame.
Environmental protection and mechanical loading
IP65 on both the motor body and the shaft bushing per IEC 60034-5 — the motor withstands hose-directed water and dust ingress. Maximum radial force (Fr) is 1930 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1340 N at 3000 rpm. Maximum axial force (Fa) is 300 N. These limits govern bearing life — overshooting them on a direct-coupled load will shorten the bearing service interval.
