Motor dimensions and mounting
The SH31401P11F2200 has a flange size of 5.5 in (140 mm) and an overall length of 10.06 in (255.5 mm), with a centring collar diameter of 5.1 in (130 mm) and depth of 0.1 in (3.5 mm). Mounting holes are 0.4 in (11 mm) diameter on the international standard flange — the bolt circle matches the 140 mm frame pattern common across SH3 motors. The shaft is 0.9 in (24 mm) diameter with a 2.0 in (50 mm) length and a parallel keyway (key width 0.3 in / 8 mm), so it fits standard couplings and pulleys for that shaft size.
Torque and speed across supply voltages
Nominal speed varies with the supply: 750 rpm at 115 V single phase, 1500 rpm at 230 V single phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three phase — the motor is wound for multi-voltage operation, so the same unit can be used on different line voltages by reconfiguring the drive parameters. Nominal torque also shifts by voltage: 96.92 lbf.in (10.95 N.m) at 115 V single phase, 93.8 lbf.in (10.6 N.m) at 230 V single phase, 81.4 lbf.in (9.2 N.m) at 400 V three phase, and 74.3 lbf.in (8.4 N.m) at 480 V three phase — the torque drops as voltage rises because the motor's constant-power region extends further. Continuous stall torque is 98.2 lbf.in (11.1 N.m) across the 115–480 V three-phase range, and peak stall torque reaches 239.0 lbf.in (27 N.m) — the holding brake is rated at 203.6 lbf.in (23 N.m), which exceeds the continuous stall torque and covers most vertical-load holding applications.
Encoder, cooling, and environmental sealing
The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder provides position feedback without needing a battery-backed multi-turn count — suitable for applications where the machine homes on power-up and the absolute position within one revolution is sufficient. Cooling is by natural convection — no external fan or forced air required, which simplifies installation in dusty or particle-laden environments but means the motor relies on its own surface area and the mounting flange for heat dissipation. IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing (per IEC 60034-5) — the motor withstands washdown and hose-directed water, though the rotatable right-angled connector must be properly seated to maintain the seal.
Electrical parameters and sourcing
Stator resistance is 1.41 Ohm and inductance is 23.72 mH; the torque constant is 1.43 N.m/A at 248 °F (120 °C), and the back EMF constant is 100 V/krpm at 68 °F (20 °C) — these values are needed for drive tuning and for calculating the DC-bus voltage requirement at high speed. Continuous stall current is 7.8 A, maximum RMS current is 20.8 A — the drive must be sized to supply at least the peak current for acceleration and the holding brake current separately.
