Motor ratings across supply voltages
The SH31401P12A1000: This SH3 frame servo delivers 2.9 kW continuous power at 400 V three-phase, with nominal speed of 3000 rpm. On 480 V three-phase it reaches 3600 rpm at 3.17 kW output. For single-phase 230 V supply, expect 1670 W at 1500 rpm; on 115 V single-phase, 860 W at 750 rpm. Nominal torque varies with supply: 10.95 N·m at 115 V single-phase, 10.6 N·m at 230 V single-phase, 9.2 N·m at 400 V three-phase, and 8.4 N·m at 480 V three-phase. Peak stall torque is 27 N·m across the 115–480 V three-phase range. Continuous stall torque is 11.1 N·m at 7.8 A continuous stall current. The torque constant is 1.43 N·m/A at 120 °C copper temperature.
Feedback and mechanical fit
Encoder is an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface type — no homing sequence needed on power-up, position is retained. The back EMF constant is 100 V/krpm at 20 °C. Motor flange is 140 mm (5.5 in) with an international standard flange mount. Shaft diameter is 24 mm with a parallel key, shaft length 50 mm. Centring collar diameter 130 mm, depth 3.5 mm. Four mounting holes at 11 mm diameter on the flange face.
Environmental and mounting constraints
IP rating depends on the shaft seal: IP54 with shaft bushing without seal ring, IP65 with shaft bushing seal fitted. Both conform to IEC 60034-5. Cooling is natural convection — no fan, so the motor relies on the mounting surface and ambient airflow for heat rejection. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 1930 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1340 N at 3000 rpm. Maximum axial force is 300 N. These limits govern coupling and pulley selection. Electrical connection is a straight connector — no right-angle adapter, so plan cable exit clearance accordingly. Stator resistance is 1.41 Ω, inductance 23.72 mH — these affect the drive's current loop tuning and PWM ripple.
