Motor sizing and torque delivery across supply voltages
The SH31401P12A1200 delivers nominal torque that varies with the supply: 10.95 N·m at 115 V single-phase, 10.6 N·m at 230 V single-phase, 9.2 N·m at 400 V three-phase, and 8.4 N·m at 480 V three-phase. Nominal speed tracks the same pattern — 750 rpm at 115 V single-phase, 1500 rpm at 230 V single-phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three-phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three-phase. Continuous power output is 2890 W at 400 V three-phase and 3170 W at 480 V three-phase, with lower figures on single-phase supplies (860 W at 115 V, 1670 W at 230 V). Peak stall torque reaches 27 N·m across the 115...480 V three-phase range, and continuous stall torque is 11.1 N·m.
Encoder feedback and environmental sealing
The motor uses an absolute multiturn SinCos Hiperface encoder, giving position feedback without a homing cycle after power loss — critical for applications where the machine must resume from the last known position. IP65 on the motor body and shaft bushing, IP67 on the housing per IEC 60034-5 — the motor withstands washdown and dusty environments, though the straight connector and shaft seal should be inspected after repeated high-pressure cleaning. Natural convection cooling means no fan noise or filter maintenance, but the thermal budget depends on the mounting surface and ambient air — the copper hot-spot temperature is rated at 130 °C.
Mechanical interface and load capacity
The motor mounts on an international standard flange with a 140 mm flange size, centring collar diameter 130 mm and depth 3.5 mm. Shaft diameter is 24 mm with a parallel key, shaft length 50 mm, key width 8 mm — a common interface for coupling to ball screws or timing-belt pulleys. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 1930 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1340 N at 3000 rpm; maximum axial force is 300 N.
Electrical parameters and drive matching
Stator resistance is 1.41 Ω and stator inductance is 23.72 mH — these values set the electrical time constant and influence the current-loop tuning of the paired drive. Torque constant is 1.43 N·m/A at 120 °C copper temperature; back EMF constant is 100 V/krpm at 20 °C. Maximum continuous current (Irms) is 20.8 A; continuous stall current is 7.8 A — the drive must be sized to supply at least the peak current for acceleration and the continuous current for holding torque. Maximum mechanical speed is 4000 rpm, above the nominal speed at 480 V — the drive's speed limit parameter should be set to this ceiling.
