Motor form factor and mechanical interface
The SH31402P01A1100 is a 140 mm flange-size servo motor with a 5.5 in (140 mm) motor flange size and a 5.1 in (130 mm) centring collar diameter, mounting via four 0.4 in (11 mm) holes on an international standard flange pattern. The shaft is a smooth 0.9 in (24 mm) diameter, 2.0 in (50 mm) long, with no keyway or flat — a clamping-type coupling or shrink-fit pulley is required for torque transmission. Overall body length is 10.7 in (272.5 mm), and the centring collar depth is 0.1 in (3.5 mm) — these dimensions define the envelope for enclosure fit and shaft coupling clearance. The electrical connection is via a straight connector, so the mating cable connector must be oriented axially, not at an angle.
Electrical ratings — speed, torque, and power by supply voltage
This is a three-phase servo motor with 5 poles, and its nominal speed and torque depend on the supply voltage: at 115 V single phase it delivers 750 rpm and 164.6 lbf.in (18.6 N.m); at 230 V single phase, 1500 rpm and 151.3 lbf.in (17.1 N.m); at 400 V three phase, 3000 rpm and 108.9 lbf.in (12.3 N.m); and at 480 V three phase, 3600 rpm and 85.9 lbf.in (9.7 N.m). Continuous power is 3900 W, with nominal output power varying by supply: 1460 W at 115 V single phase, 2690 W at 230 V single phase, 3860 W at 400 V three phase, and 3660 W at 480 V three phase. The continuous stall torque is 172.6 lbf.in (19.5 N.m) across the 115...480 V three-phase range, with a continuous stall current of 13.2 A — this is the torque the motor can sustain indefinitely without exceeding the 266 °F (130 °C) copper hot temperature limit. Peak stall torque is 531.9 lbf.in (60.1 N.m) at 115...480 V three phase, with a maximum current Irms of 44.1 A — this short-duration torque is available for acceleration and deceleration, limited by the drive's peak current capability. Maximum mechanical speed is 4000 rpm — the absolute speed limit beyond which mechanical damage may occur, regardless of supply voltage.
Feedback, cooling, and environmental protection
The encoder is an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface type — this provides position feedback at power-up without a homing sequence, and the SinCos interface is compatible with Schneider and third-party servo drives that support the Hiperface protocol. Cooling is by natural convection — no fan or forced air is required, but the motor must be mounted with adequate airflow around the housing to dissipate heat, especially at continuous rated torque. The motor and shaft bushing are rated IP65 per IEC 60034-5, meaning the housing is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction — suitable for washdown environments, but the mating connector must also be IP-rated to maintain the seal.
The motor ships as a single unit (1 per package) without a holding brake — if the application requires a brake for vertical-axis holding or power-off safety, an external brake must be added to the system.
