Speed and torque at your supply voltage
This motor's nominal speed and torque are supply-voltage dependent. At 400 V three-phase, it delivers 3000 rpm with a nominal torque of 12.3 N.m; at 480 V three-phase, 3600 rpm at 9.7 N.m. The continuous power rating is 3900 W, and the peak stall torque reaches 60.1 N.m across the 115–480 V three-phase range. The 140 mm flange (IEC standard) and 24 mm smooth shaft with a 50 mm shaft length match the SH3 frame. For audit purposes, the sizing reference SH31402P is used in Schneider's selection software to pair the correct drive and cable.
Absolute encoder and holding brake — commissioning constraints
The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder eliminates the need for a homing sequence on power-up — the position is known immediately. This simplifies commissioning on multi-axis lines where each axis must retain its position reference after a power cycle. The holding brake is rated at 23 N.m static torque. For a vertical (Z-axis) load, this holds the axis when the drive is disabled. The brake is spring-applied, power-released; the drive's brake control output must be wired and parameterised to release the brake before motion and engage it after the axis stops.
IP rating and mechanical limits for the installation
The motor is rated IP54 at the shaft bushing (without shaft seal ring) and IP65 overall, per IEC 60034-5. In a dry indoor panel or machine frame, the IP54 bushing is adequate; if washdown is required, the optional shaft seal ring upgrades the bushing to IP65. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 2240 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1550 N at 3000 rpm. For belt-driven loads, the belt tension must stay below this curve to avoid bearing overload. Maximum axial force is 300 N — direct-coupled loads with thermal expansion must allow axial float. The maximum mechanical speed is 4000 rpm. The encoder's electrical limit may be lower — confirm the drive's speed-loop bandwidth and encoder interface before commanding overspeed.
Electrical parameters for drive tuning
Continuous stall current is 13.2 A; maximum current (Irms) is 44.1 A. The drive must be sized to supply 44 A peak for full torque during acceleration or stall conditions. The back EMF constant is 101 V/krpm at 20 °C — this sets the voltage ceiling at high speed.
