Power architecture and torque delivery across supply voltages
The SH31402P01F1200 is a three-phase servo motor from the SH3 series, delivering 3900 W continuous power. Its nominal speed shifts with the supply: 750 rpm at 115 V single phase, 1500 rpm at 230 V single phase, 3000 rpm at 400 V three phase, and 3600 rpm at 480 V three phase — so the same motor covers a wide range of line voltages, but the speed-torque curve must be matched to the drive's output. Nominal torque is also supply-dependent: 164.6 lbf.in (18.6 N.m) at 115 V single phase, 151.3 lbf.in (17.1 N.m) at 230 V single phase, 108.9 lbf.in (12.3 N.m) at 400 V three phase, and 85.9 lbf.in (9.7 N.m) at 480 V three phase. The continuous stall torque across the three-phase range is 172.6 lbf.in (19.5 N.m), and the peak stall torque reaches 531.9 lbf.in (60.1 N.m) — that's the overload headroom for acceleration events.
Feedback and brake — holding the position, knowing the angle
The encoder is an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface type — no homing sequence needed on power-up; the drive reads the exact rotor position from the first commutation cycle. The holding brake delivers 203.6 lbf.in (23 N.m) of holding torque, which secures the load on a vertical axis when power is removed.
Environmental sealing and mounting
The motor carries IP65 on the body and shaft bushing, and IP67 on the housing per IEC 60034-5 — suitable for washdown environments where water jets or hose-down cleaning is routine. Cooling is natural convection, so no forced-air or liquid cooling loop is needed. Mounting uses an international standard flange with a 5.5 in (140 mm) flange size and a 5.1 in (130 mm) centring collar. The shaft is 0.9 in (24 mm) diameter, 2.0 in (50 mm) long, smooth (no keyway), and the electrical connection is a straight connector.
