Supply voltage and speed — one motor, three operating envelopes
The SH31403P01A1100: This SH3 servo motor delivers different nominal speeds depending on the supply: 750 rpm on 115 V single-phase, 1500 rpm on 230 V single-phase, 3000 rpm on 400 V three-phase, and 3600 rpm on 480 V three-phase. The nominal torque follows the same pattern — 24.7 N.m at 115 V single-phase, 12.9 N.m at 400 V three-phase, 9.1 N.m at 480 V three-phase — so the torque available at the shaft drops as line voltage and speed increase. Continuous power is 4.1 kW, but the nominal output power varies from 1940 W (115 V single-phase) to 4050 W (400 V three-phase). If your line runs on 480 V three-phase, budget for the lower torque and higher speed.
Encoder feedback and mechanical fit
The absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder gives position feedback without a home cycle on power-up — useful on a machine that loses power mid-cycle and needs to resume from the last known position. The motor flange is 140 mm (5.5 in) with a 130 mm centring collar and four mounting holes on an 11 mm bolt circle. Shaft is 24 mm diameter, 50 mm long, smooth (no keyway). If your coupling expects a keyed shaft, you will need a shaft adapter or a different variant.
IP65 and natural convection — no fan, no filter to change
IP65 rated per IEC 60034-5 on both the motor body and the shaft bushing. That means it handles washdown sprays and dust ingress — a fit for food-and-beverage or wet-area conveyor drives. Cooling is natural convection, so there is no fan to clog or replace. In an enclosed, hot cabinet, derate the continuous torque if ambient exceeds the 40 °C typical rating band — the datasheet's temperature-rise curve governs the safe continuous load.
