Motor performance across supply voltages
The SH31403P01F1100 is a 5-pole, 4.1 kW continuous-rated servo motor from the SH3 family, designed for three-phase supply but also specified for single-phase operation at reduced output. At 400 V three-phase it delivers 3000 rpm nominal speed and 4050 W nominal output power; at 480 V three-phase the speed rises to 3600 rpm with 3430 W output. On single-phase 230 V it runs 1500 rpm at 3330 W, and on 115 V single-phase it runs 750 rpm at 1940 W. Nominal torque follows the same voltage dependency: 114.2 lbf.in (12.9 N.m) at 400 V three-phase, 80.5 lbf.in (9.1 N.m) at 480 V three-phase, 187.6 lbf.in (21.2 N.m) at 230 V single-phase, and 218.6 lbf.in (24.7 N.m) at 115 V single-phase. The peak stall torque is 798.3 lbf.in (90.2 N.m) across the 115...480 V three-phase range, and continuous stall torque is 246.05 lbf.in (27.8 N.m) over the same range.
Encoder, brake, and mechanical interface
The motor carries an absolute single-turn SinCos Hiperface encoder — this gives position feedback at power-up without a homing cycle, which matters for applications where the axis must know its absolute position immediately after a power loss or controlled stop. The holding brake is integrated, rated at 318.6 lbf.in (36 N.m) holding torque, so the vertical axis stays put when the drive is disabled. Mechanical mounting uses an international standard flange with a 5.5 in (140 mm) flange size and a 5.1 in (130 mm) centring collar. The shaft is smooth, 0.9 in (24 mm) diameter by 2.0 in (50 mm) long. Maximum radial force at the shaft is 2420 N at 1000 rpm, derating to 1670 N at 3000 rpm; maximum axial force is 300 N. The motor body and shaft bushing are both rated IP65 per IEC 60034-5, so it handles washdown environments without a secondary cover.
Electrical parameters and thermal limits
Stator resistance is 0.4 Ohm, stator inductance is 7.72 mH, and the torque constant is 1.58 N.m/A at 248 °F (120 °C). The back EMF constant is 105 V/krpm at 68 °F (20 °C). Continuous stall current is 17.6 A, and the maximum RMS current is 61 A. The motor is cooled by natural convection — no external fan, so the thermal budget depends on the mounting surface and ambient airflow.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The electrical connection uses a straight connector — no right-angle or field-wirable option is listed, so the cable exit direction is fixed. The motor ships as a single unit per package.
