Schneider Modicon M172 controller, TM172PDG42R, packs 42 I/O into a 144×110 mm panel cutout for HVAC and pumping duty. Its 12 analog inputs accept NTC, Pt1000, 0-10 V, and 4-20 mA — the sensor set you find on air handlers, chillers, and pump stations. Analog inputs are configurable by pair; the 10 kOhm impedance is suited for 0-10 V signals, and the controller supplies 24 V at 150 mA to power external 4-20 mA transmitters directly. For long sensor runs, the 4-20 mA loop is your best noise rejecter — keep the shield grounded at one end. Digital inputs are sink or source at 24 V AC/DC, 2.5 mA per channel. Digital outputs are relays: a mix of SPST and SPDT, rated 3 A for SPST or 1 A for SPDT. That covers solenoid valves, contactor coils, and pilot lights without external interposing relays.
