Sensor overview
The Telemecanique Sensors XS518BLNBM12 is a shielded inductive proximity sensor from the XS5 series, housed in an M18 threaded brass barrel with nickel-plated finish. It detects ferrous targets at a rated 5 mm, sufficient for common position and presence sensing in packaging or material handling. Output is NPN normally-closed (NC), 3-wire, rated 200 mA maximum at a supply of 12–48 VDC, terminating in a 4-pin M12 male connector. The sensor includes integrated overload, reverse polarity, and short circuit protection, so it can operate reliably on inductive loads without external suppression. Sealed to IP67 and IP69K. Operating temperature range -13 °F to 158 °F with nickel-plated brass body.
