The XS612B1PAL2 is a 12 mm cylindrical shielded inductive proximity sensor from Telemecanique's XS6 series, built for reliable metal-target presence detection in tight mounting spots. Its shielded face lets you mount flush in steel without excessive derating – the nominal sensing distance is 4 mm, repeatable to 3 mm minimum for close-clearance applications. Output is PNP normally-open, switching up to 200 mA from a 12-48V DC supply. That gives you flexible integration with PLC inputs or relay coils across standard industrial voltages. The 3-wire prewired cable (2 m, bare ends) keeps installation simple – just wire brown/blue/black and lock in the screw terminals. Environmental sealing is robust: IP68 and IP69K, backed by a NEMA 4X rating, so it stands up to high-pressure washdowns and dust ingress. The nickel-plated brass body adds corrosion resistance for food, beverage, or outdoor applications. Operating temperature from -13°F to 158°F covers most production floor conditions.

Flush or non-flush? It's shielded, so flush mounting in steel works without losing detection range. Use a standard M12 mounting hole; the sensor body is nickel-plated brass for durability.
