The Telemecanique XS8C2A1PCM12 is an inductive rectangular proximity sensor built for the washdown zone. Rated IP65, IP67, and critically IP69K – that last one means it stands up to high-pressure, high-temperature spray common in CIP (clean-in-place) cycles. You'll find this PBT-bodied sensor flush-mounted against stainless steel tanks or pipework, sensing ferrous targets at 20 mm.
What the ratings mean for your install
Rated IP69K, 12-48 VDC PNP with M12 connector. Shielded face allows flush mounting. Onboard protection covers the three faults that kill sensors in wet environments: overload, reverse polarity, and short circuit. That means a wire crossing during a line change or a stuck target won't take the sensor out – saves a spares trip.
Sourcing reality
This is a standard active item, not an obsolete scavenge. Sourced against an RFQ for the expected lead time, with full traceability back to the Telemecanique factory. If you're freezing a BOM for a washdown cell or line, it's a clean spec-in without a last-time-buy window.
