The 3RT2018-1AV01: This width is the critical dimension for DIN-rail density — at 45 mm, it occupies one standard 45 mm module position on the rail, allowing side-by-side packing with other S00 contactors and overload relays without forced spacing. The magnet coil uses screw-type terminals, not quick-connects — factor in screwdriver access for the coil wiring during panel layout.
Switching duty and mechanical endurance
The contactor is rated for 30,000,000 typical mechanical operations, which is the standard endurance for the S00 frame in light-to-medium cycling applications. For AC-3e (enhanced motor starting) the limit is also 750 per hour. These limits govern the thermal recovery of the arc chamber — exceeding them risks contact welding. Arcing time is specified at 10 to 15 ms at AC, with the make time at 4 to 15 ms.
Auxiliary contact ratings and environmental limits
An auxiliary switch is integrated as standard. At 400 V the rating is 3 A. These values follow the IEC 60947-5-1 utilization category for control circuits — the auxiliary contacts are suitable for direct PLC input switching at 24 VDC but require derating at higher voltages.
