What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens 3VA1050-3ED32-0CH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker sized for 50 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release tuned for line protection — meaning it handles overload and short-circuit on distribution feeders, not motor starts. Rated 75.6 kA at 240 V and 52.5 kA at 415 V, it clears high-fault conditions without cascading upstream, which matters when you're coordinating selectivity in a panel feeding multiple downstream breakers. Three poles, 800 V insulation rating, and an undervoltage release (UVR) built in as the auxiliary release type — that UVR lets you drop the breaker on a control signal or safety circuit, useful for emergency-stop chains or undervoltage protection on a machine feeder. The front face carries IP40 protection, so it's fine in a clean indoor panel but keep it out of washdown zones. It ships with 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ version), giving you remote status on open/closed and fault conditions without adding a separate module.
Thermal derating and real-world current
The 50 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C — that's your normal panel ambient. Above that, it derates: 48 A at 55 °C, 47 A at 60 °C, 46 A at 65 °C, down to 45 A at 70 °C. If your panel runs hot near the top of the enclosure, factor that derate into your load calculation; the breaker won't trip early, but you lose headroom.
Mounting and panel fit
Dimensions: 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall. That 76.2 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint — it fits the same panel cutout and bus-bar spacing as other SENTRON 3VA frames. The 70 mm depth means it clears most 200 mm deep enclosures with room for wiring gutters.
