What this MCCB is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1110-3EF36-0AB0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current (Iu) with a TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit — meaning it handles overloads thermally and short-circuits magnetically, no external control power needed. The 100 A rating holds across 40 °C to 50 °C ambient; above that it derates stepwise to 90 A at 70 °C. Interrupting capacity is specified at four voltage levels: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 10.5 kA at 690 V. That spread tells you the breaker is sized for high-fault industrial distribution — the 75.6 kA figure at 240 V covers low-voltage transformer secondaries, while the 10.5 kA at 690 V still clears a substantial fault on 690 V plant networks. Rated insulation voltage Ui is 800 V, and the front face carries IP40 protection — fine for a closed panel, but not rated for washdown or outdoor exposure. The breaker includes two auxiliary switches (HP type) for status feedback to a PLC or indication lamp.
Mounting and panel fit
Dimensions are 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The width is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint — it fits existing SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts and busbar arrangements without re-drilling. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
