What this MCCB carries
The SENTRON 3VA1132-6EF32-0KC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 32 A continuous current with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. Its breaking capacity hits 220 kA at 240 V, 154 kA at 415 V, and 121 kA at 440 V — so it handles high-fault utility feeds and transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. The 800 V rated insulation voltage means it's comfortable on 480 V and 600 V class systems too. The TM240 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic trip — no interchangeable rating plugs, so the 32 A frame is what it is. That keeps the BOM simple but means you size the breaker to the load, not the other way around. The shunt trip (STL) and two HQ auxiliary switches come integrated, saving a panel-builder the labor of snapping on add-on modules later.
Panel fit and footprint
The 3VA1132-6EF32-0KC0 measures 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep. That 70 mm depth is the key dimension for shallow gland-plate enclosures — it fits behind a 100 mm backpan without the line-side lugs kissing the cover. The 76.2 mm width (three 25.4 mm pole pitches) matches the standard SENTRON 3VA mounting footprint, so swapping into an existing 3VA panel cutout is a straight drop-in. Front IP40 protection handles the usual panel environment — no washdown rating, so keep it behind the enclosure door. The -25 °C to 70 °C operating range covers most indoor industrial spaces, and the -40 °C to 80 °C storage range means it survives a cold warehouse.
Thermal derating — the real continuous current
The 32 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C ambient. At 55 °C it derates to 30.72 A, at 60 °C to 30.08 A, at 65 °C to 29.44 A, and at 70 °C to 28.8 A. That's a gentle slope — about 3.2 A lost over the full 30 °C rise — so a 30 A continuous load at 60 °C still has headroom. The TM240 release's thermal element tracks this curve, so no manual adjustment needed.
