Panel fit and breaking capacity
The Siemens 3VA1163-4GE46-0AA0 is a 4-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current (Iu) at up to 50 °C, with only a 5 A derating by 70 °C — so it holds its rating through most panel ambient conditions without upsizing the frame. Breaking capacity hits 121 kA at 240 V and still delivers 75.6 kA at 415 V, which covers most industrial service-entrance and distribution applications on 400 V class systems. At 690 V it still clears 11.9 kA, useful for 690 V drives or mining gear. The TM220 thermal-magnetic release provides fixed thermal and magnetic trip settings — no interchangeable trip units, so the breaker is factory-set for the 63 A rating. The 100% N-conductor protection design means the neutral pole is rated for full phase current, not derated.
Lifecycle and sourcing
Pricing and availability are confirmed at quote time against an RFQ through independent distribution. The 17.3 W maximum power loss should be factored into panel thermal calculations if the breaker is enclosed with other heat sources.
Dimensions and mounting
The breaker measures 130 mm high, 101.6 mm wide, and 70 mm deep — a standard 4-pole MCCB footprint that fits most DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures without requiring adapter plates. Front-face protection is IP40, meaning it resists tools and solid objects over 1 mm but is not sealed against dust ingress or water. Suitable for indoor panel installation; not rated for washdown environments.
