Above 50 °C, the thermal curve steps down: 194 A at 55 °C, 188 A at 60 °C, 182 A at 65 °C, and 176 A at 70 °C. The breaking capacity is the headline number for selectivity studies: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 36 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 690 V. At 415 V, that 121 kA covers most industrial transformer-fed fault levels without cascading upstream — a strong fit for main or tie breaker duty in a 400 V distribution panel.
Overcurrent release and auxiliary contacts
The TM240 overcurrent release is a thermal-magnetic type, fixed at 200 A continuous. It ships with 4 auxiliary switches (HQ type), which gives you status feedback for a PLC or remote indication without adding a separate block. Latching endurance is 15,000 operations — not a daily-switch duty class, but fine for the overcurrent protection role it's designed for.
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 158 mm high, 70 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for the SENTRON 3VA platform.
