630 A MCCB with high interrupting capacity for line protection
The Siemens SENTRON 3VM1063-4ED32-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 630 A continuous current, designed for line protection in distribution panels. Its TM210 thermal-magnetic release provides fixed overload and short-circuit protection without adjustable trip settings — a straightforward choice for main feeder or large branch circuits where coordination studies are already locked. Interrupting capacity reaches 121 kA at 240 V AC and 76 kA at 415 V AC, which means this breaker can clear high-fault currents without cascading upstream — critical for installations with large transformers or utility tie points. At 440 V it still holds 40 kA, and at 500 V it drops to 12 kA, so verify the available fault current at your service voltage before committing the BOM line.
Thermal derating and ambient temperature
The 630 A rating holds up to 50 °C ambient without derating. At 55 °C it drops to 62 A, at 60 °C to 61 A, at 65 °C to 60 A, and at 70 °C to 58 A. If the panel runs hot — say near a transformer or in a non-climate-controlled enclosure — use the 60 °C column (61 A) as the continuous design limit. The breaker's own maximum operating temperature is 70 °C; storage range is -40 to 80 °C.
Physical fit and mounting
Dimensions: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width (3 inches), 70 mm depth. The 3-pole width is standard for a 630 A frame — it occupies three 25.4 mm module positions on a DIN rail or direct panel mount. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no communication function on this variant; it's a pure thermal-magnetic breaker with a fixed trip indicator (no remote signaling).
