What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens SENTRON 3VM1116-3ED22-0AA0 is a 2-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 160 A at 40 °C, with a TM210 overcurrent release set for line protection (LI characteristic). It carries 76 kA breaking capacity at 240 V AC and 53 kA at 415 V AC — enough to clear high-fault conditions in distribution panels without cascading upstream. Rated insulation voltage is 500 V, maximum operating voltage 415 V AC, and DC operation up to 250 V is supported. The front face is IP40 rated — suitable for enclosed panel mounting where tools are needed to access live parts.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
The 160 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C. Above that, it derates gradually: 158 A at 55 °C, 155 A at 60 °C, 153 A at 65 °C, and 150 A at 70 °C. Operating ambient range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to +80 °C.
Dimensions and panel fit
The breaker measures 130 mm high, 50.8 mm wide, and 70 mm deep. The 50.8 mm width is a standard 2-inch footprint for a 2-pole MCCB — it will drop into a panel cutout or DIN-rail adapter designed for that pitch without rework.
