Siemens SENTRON 3VM1116-5EE36-0AA2 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) on the IEC frame 160 platform, rated for line protection with a TM220 thermal-magnetic release. It carries a rated continuous current Iu of 160 A and delivers interrupting ratings that step down with voltage: 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415 V AC, 76 kA at 440 V AC, and 17 kA at 500 V AC — the 240 V figure is the headline for high-fault panels. The TM220 release provides LI protection (thermal overload Ir adjustable 112–160 A, magnetic fixed at 10 x In).
Mounts in a standard panel enclosure with front connection via box terminals — accepts 0.2–2.5 mm² solid or ferruled stranded on the control side, larger lugs on the line/load side per the frame rating. The front face carries IP40 protection, so it's fine for a clean indoor panel but not for washdown or outdoor exposure. Ambient temperature derating is already baked into the spec: full 160 A from 40 °C up to 50 °C, then steps down to 158 A at 55 °C, 155 A at 60 °C, 153 A at 65 °C, and 150 A at 70 °C. No neutral conductor upgrade or auxiliary contact kit is available on this variant — plan separate neutral and alarm wiring if needed.
