The 3VM1225-5EE32-0AA0: This MCCB delivers a 187 kA interrupting rating at 240 V AC, dropping to 121 kA at 415 V, 76 kA at 440 V, and 30 kA at 500 V. The 250 A frame with those short-circuit ratings means it can sit upstream of smaller branch breakers in a high-fault panel, provided the coordination study confirms the let-through energy is within the downstream devices' withstand. The thermal-magnetic TM220 release gives fixed thermal and magnetic trip points — no interchangeable trip units, so the 250 A rating is what you order. The insulation voltage is rated 800 V, which covers 690 V AC systems with margin.
Thermal derating and panel fit
Current rating holds at 250 A up to 50 °C ambient, then derates to 243.3 A at 55 °C, 236.5 A at 60 °C, 229.8 A at 65 °C, and 223 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs at 60 °C, the usable continuous current drops to 236.5 A — size the load accordingly. The 70 mm depth and 105 mm width fit standard MCCB mounting footprints; front IP40 protection means it's suited for enclosed panel mounting, not washdown areas.
