Integrator note
The Siemens 5SL4432-6 is a 4-pole SENTRON miniature circuit breaker with B-curve tripping characteristic, rated 32 A at 30 °C and breaking 10 kA per both IEC 60898 and IEC 60947-2 at 400 V AC. With IP20 protection (finger-safe with conductors connected), it is intended for enclosed panel mounting, not open-wet locations.
Thermal derating and selectivity
The 32 A rating holds at 30 °C ambient but derates to 30.31 A at 40 °C and 27.58 A at 55 °C — a 14 % drop from the nameplate figure. For a panel running at 40 °C ambient, the effective continuous load limit is just over 30 A, not the full 32 A. That matters when coordinating with an upstream 40 A or 50 A device: the 5SL4432-6's 10 kA SCCR at 400 V gives headroom for most residential and light commercial fault levels, but the thermal derating curve must be factored into the load schedule.
