What this MCB is and what the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens 5SL4632-8CC is a 3+N-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON 5SL family, rated 32 A with a D tripping characteristic at 400 V and a 10 kA breaking capacity. The D curve means it tolerates inrush currents up to 10–20× the rated current before tripping magnetically — sized for motor loads, transformers, or welding equipment where the start-up surge would nuisance-trip a B or C curve. The 10 kA breaking capacity at 400 V tells you it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without welding contacts or cascading upstream, which is the standard for most commercial and light industrial distribution boards. The 3+N-pole configuration switches all three phases and switches the neutral (isolates it on fault), which is required in TN-S or TT systems where the neutral must be broken to clear a line-to-neutral fault. This is a panel-mount DIN-rail device — snaps onto a 35 mm rail inside the distribution board.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
Note the Product class B designation — return restricted, meaning this part ships with a limited return policy; confirm your order quantity and application before committing. This is standard for Siemens panel-protection devices.
Compliance and documentation
RoHS compliant since 01-06-13. REACH candidate-list information is available on request. Export Control Regulations: AL N / ECCN N — no export restrictions for most destinations.
