What it is and what the ratings mean
The Siemens 5SL5425-7RC is a 4-pole miniature circuit-breaker (MCB) rated for DC circuits up to 1000 V, with a 10 kA breaking capacity and a C25 tripping characteristic. The 1000 V DC rating means it can safely interrupt a 1000 V DC fault — relevant for photovoltaic strings, DC bus distribution in drives, or battery banks where the arc is harder to extinguish than on AC. The C-curve (C25) trips between 5 and 10 times rated current (125–250 A), suited for moderate inrush from DC loads like contactor coils or solenoid valves without nuisance trips.
Where it fits in the panel
Snap-on mounting to a standard DIN rail (EN 60715) for enclosure integration. Four poles means it occupies four module widths (roughly 72 mm on a 18 mm/module rail). The DC rating holds across all four poles in series; verify the wiring configuration for your specific DC system (ungrounded vs. grounded return) against the terminal marking diagram.
