What it is and what the ratings mean
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL6563-6 is a 1P+N miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with a B tripping characteristic, rated 63 A at 30 °C and 230 V AC. The B curve means it trips between 3 and 5 times rated current — suited for resistive and general-purpose loads in residential and infrastructure panels where inrush is modest. Breaking capacity is 6 kA per both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2, so it can safely interrupt a fault up to that level without upstream damage. The neutral pole switches simultaneously (1P+N), which is standard for single-phase final circuits where you want the neutral isolated when the breaker opens.
Derating and ambient conditions
The 63 A rating holds at 30 °C. At 40 °C it derates to 59.18 A; at 45 °C to 57.96 A; at 55 °C to 52.93 A. If the panel runs warm — say a crowded DIN rail in a sealed enclosure — size the load to the derated figure, not the 30 °C number. The breaker is rated for ambient humidity up to 95% at 55 °C, and the housing is halogen-free and silicon-free, which matters if the panel is in a clean-room or semiconductor-adjacent environment.

Occupies 2 modular width units (36 mm) on a DIN rail. Depth is 76 mm, installation depth 70 mm — standard for SENTRON 5SL series. Mounting position is any, so it works in horizontal or vertical busbar arrangements. IP20 with connected conductors, which is typical for enclosed distribution boards; no special sealing for washdown. Overvoltage category III and pollution degree 2 confirm it is rated for fixed-installation mains supply. The breaker is sealable, allowing the installer to lock the toggle position after commissioning.
