What this MCB does in the panel
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL6532-7BB is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker (1P+N) rated 32 A at 230 V AC with a C tripping curve — meaning it holds through moderate inrush (motor starts, capacitor banks) and trips on sustained overloads between 5× and 10× rated current. The 6 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2 tells you it can safely interrupt a fault up to that level without upstream damage, which is standard for residential and light-commercial distribution boards in most European installations. The neutral pole switches as well, so you get full isolation on both conductors when the breaker opens.
Mounting and wiring constraints
Snaps onto standard DIN rail — occupies 2 width units (36 mm wide) with a 70 mm installation depth behind the rail. The screw terminals accept solid or stranded copper from 0.75 mm² up to 25 mm², tightened to 2.5–3 N·m. That 25 mm² top end means you can feed a 32 A circuit with a single 6 mm² or even 10 mm² conductor without pigtailing down. IP20 with conductors connected — fine inside a closed panel, not for wet or dusty locations. Any mounting position works, and the enclosure is halogen-free and silicon-free, which matters if the panel sits in a cleanroom or near sensitive electronics.
