DC Capability and Environmental Limits
For DC circuits, the 5SY4320-6 is rated at 60 V with a maximum operating voltage of 72 V, and a breaking capacity of 15 kA per IEC 60947-2. This covers 48 V battery banks and 60 V DC control loops common in solar combiner boxes or industrial DC bus feeds. The breaker operates across -40 °C to 75 °C and tolerates high humidity — up to 95% at 55 °C — so it can live in non-conditioned enclosures or outdoor-rated panels without derating concerns.
IP20 protection applies with connected conductors; the breaker is also sealable for lockout/tagout (LOTO) compliance.
The 5SY4320-6 is certified to IEC/EN 60898-1 and IEC/EN 60947-2, plus UL 1077 and CSA C22.2 No. 235. The UL 1077 rating is 5 kA — confirm your SCCR requirement if the panel is built to a North American standard.
