The switched neutral means the neutral pole opens and closes with the phase, which is required in some regional wiring codes and for isolating the full circuit during maintenance.
Breaking capacity — the number that decides coordination
This breaker carries dual-rated breaking capacity: 10 kA per IEC 60898-1 (the household-and-similar standard) and 35 kA per IEC 60947-2 (the industrial-standard). The 35 kA figure is the one that matters for panel coordination — it means the 5SY4504-7 can interrupt a fault up to 35 kA at 230/400 V without upstream fuses or a larger breaker needing to clear first. At 60 V DC it still holds 15 kA, which covers most DC auxiliary bus applications. The UL 1077 rating of 5 kA is the supplementary-protector figure for North American panels that use the breaker as a branch-circuit device.
Mounting position is any orientation. The quick-assembly fastening method means it snaps onto the rail and clips into place without tools. The IP20 rating applies with connected conductors.
Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6 covers ±1 mm at 5–25 Hz and 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz, which is typical for machine-mounted panels.
