The Siemens 5SY4610-8 is a SENTRON 5SY4-series miniature circuit breaker — 4-pole (3P+N), D-curve, 10 A rated current at 400 V AC. The D tripping characteristic means it tolerates the high inrush of motor-starting or transformer loads without nuisance tripping; the magnetic trip threshold sits at 10–20× rated current, so it clears a hard fault but lets a conveyor drive or compressor start through.
Breaking capacity and standards
Rated breaking capacity hits 10 kA per EN 60898 and 20 kA per IEC 60947-2 — the higher figure applies when the breaker is used as a distribution board component per the industrial standard. For DC circuits it's rated 15 kA per IEC 60947-2 up to 72 V. UL 1077 / CSA C22.2 No. 235 recognition at 5 kA covers North American panel builds.
Panel fit and mounting
Snaps onto DIN rail via the quick-assembly system; occupies 4 width units (72 mm). Installation depth is 70 mm, overall depth 76 mm. Mounting position is any — no derating needed for horizontal or inverted orientation. IP20 with conductors connected, so it's standard for enclosed distribution boards and control panels.
