What the ratings mean for fit
The 5SY7110-7: The C-curve (tripping characteristic class C) means the breaker trips at 5 to 10 times rated current — standard for inductive loads like small motors, transformers, and lighting banks where inrush is moderate. The 15 kA rating under EN 60898 is the domestic/light-commercial benchmark; the 30 kA under IEC 60947-2 is the industrial installation rating, so this breaker can sit in a panel with high prospective fault current without cascading upstream. The 5 kA UL 1077 rating is typical for supplementary protection in North American panels — not a branch-circuit breaker per UL 489, but accepted for internal equipment protection. The 1-pole design (single modular width unit, 18 mm wide) fits standard DIN-rail enclosures. Depth is 76 mm, height 90 mm, installation depth 70 mm. Mounting position is any; the quick-assembly system snaps onto the rail without tools. IP20 with connected conductors means it's protected against finger contact but not washdown — standard for enclosed panel mounting.
Panel integration note
Snap-on DIN rail mount, 1 MW (18 mm) wide. Combined top and bottom terminals accept the same conductor range. Sealable (tamper-evident cover option available). Halogen-free and silicon-free construction — relevant for clean-room or high-reliability environments where outgassing must be minimized. Ambient temperature range -40 °C to 75 °C; humidity derating applies above 55 °C (max 95% RH at 55 °C, 55% at 70 °C, 35% at 75 °C).
