Integrator's note — 5SY7614-7
The Siemens 5SY7614-7 is a 4-pole (3P+N) miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON 5SY7 series, rated at 0.3 A with a C-curve tripping characteristic. It breaks faults at 15 kA per EN 60898 and 50 kA per IEC 60947-2 at 400 V AC — the 50 kA figure is the industrial-grade interrupting capacity you rely on for high-fault panels.
Selectivity and coordination
Energy limiting class 3 means this MCB limits let-through energy tightly — essential for downstream coordination with smaller branch breakers or contactors. The 0.3 A C-curve is a niche rating: it protects lightly loaded control transformers, PLC power supplies, or signal-conditioner circuits where a standard 1 A or 2 A breaker would not trip fast enough on a low-impedance fault. Pair it with a 5SY6008-7 (1 A, same form factor) only if the load current is below 0.3 A; otherwise the 5SY6008-7 will not provide adequate overload protection.
Panel integration
The sealable cover allows lockout/tagout. Terminal capacity of 35 mm² solid or stranded covers large incoming feeds or busbar connections.
