The FRN0008G2S-2GU is a 2 hp variable-frequency drive from Fuji's FRENIC-Eco series, sized for a 2 hp motor on 208V AC three-phase input. It delivers 7.5 A maximum output current into a 0 to 240V AC motor winding, with output frequency adjustable from 0.1 to 120 Hz. That 50% starting torque at 1 Hz means it can break a loaded conveyor or fan from a standstill without oversizing the drive — useful for HVAC variable-torque applications where the load curve follows the fan law. Input voltage tolerance is 200-240V AC +10%/-15%, so it handles nominal 208V and 230V supplies without a transformer. The NEMA 1 enclosure is open — no conduit knockouts, designed for indoor panel mounting where ambient dust and drips are excluded. Seven digital inputs and three analog inputs give enough I/O for a basic speed-reference and start/stop scheme; the five digital and two analog outputs can feed a PLC or panel meter with frequency, current, or voltage readouts.
Protection and compliance
Protection covers drive thermal overload, motor thermal overload, overvoltage, undervoltage, phase failure, phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground short circuit, and overbraking. No internal brake chopper — if you need dynamic braking for a vertical load, you'll add an external chopper and resistor. The drive carries UL508C (power conversion equipment), CSA C22.2 No.14, and EN50178 (electronic equipment for power installations) approvals, which covers most North American and European panel builds.
I/O and control integration
Control is via keypad or remote contact — the LCD/LED display shows motor speed in percent, alarm codes, menu navigation, and function codes. Digital readout cycles through output frequency, output current, and output voltage. No Ethernet port onboard; communication is limited to the analog/digital I/O and the remote contact input. If you need fieldbus, you'll add an option card from Fuji's FRENIC series.
