Drive identity and lifecycle
The Fuji Electric FRN002E1S-7U is a core drive from the FRENIC-MULTI series, rated for single-phase 230 V input and 2 HP output. This is the base unit — no options, no built-in fieldbus — sized for standalone pump, fan, or small conveyor duty where the load is a standard induction motor.
Single-phase 230 V input means it connects to a standard North American or 230 V single-phase mains supply. The 2 HP output rating (1.5 kW) sizes it for a 2 HP 4-pole induction motor at full load — anything larger requires stepping up to the next frame. No three-phase input option on this variant; if the site has 208 V three-phase, the FRN002E1S-7U still runs on one leg, but the input current draw will be higher than a three-phase-drive equivalent.
Deployment context
Mounts in a standard enclosure on the DIN rail or panel backplate — the FRENIC-MULTI frame has integral mounting tabs and a snap-on DIN adapter. For a 2 HP drive, the heat sink is sized for natural convection up to 50 °C ambient; forced cooling is not required unless the panel is sealed and unventilated. Motor cable runs under 50 m at 2 HP keep reflected-wave voltage within the drive's IGBT rating. Longer runs need an output reactor — the FRENIC-MULTI manual specifies the minimum inductance per cable length.
